...for Families...

"Families sharing stories together is one of the greatest pleasures. I truly enjoy the awesome challenge and responsibility of crafting an evening or afternoon that connects young and old alike."
|- Mark Binder

Story concerts are different than rock concerts. They bring entire communities together for a shared experience that happens in the story space -- between the listeners and the teller.

Without any props or costumes, with nothing more than his voice, his tales and his physical energy, Mark Binder can spin yarns for all ages, from the youngest to the oldest.

He has performed for families in schools, libraries, churches, synagogues and at festivals.

"Mark likes to say that the young people are far easier than their parents, because the parents aren't used to listening... Yet he is able to keep everyone engaged and grinning moment by moment."

The role of the storyteller is to find the right story at the right time for the right audience. Whether it's a set program like "The Art of Peace" or something more fluid, Mark adapts his set based on the needs of the listeners.

"It is wonderful to work with performers who know their craft and their business."
- Francine Murphy Brillon, Slater Mill

He has several sound systems that can accomodate even the largest spaces.

Story programs are about 60-90 minutes long.

You can invite Mark back again and again and every time he'll have new stories to add to the old favorites.

His live CDs "A Holiday Present," "It was a dark and stormy night" and"Tall Tales, Whoppers and Lies," are excellent examples of Mark's ability to hold and entertain any group.
