Album Review – "It was a dark and stormy night"

“It was a dark and stormy night…”

Album Cover

Chilling, Thrilling, Funny!

When a story begins as such, you know that scary things are afoot. When Mark Binder starts a story this way, you can be sure a healthy dose of humor is in the works as well. Storyteller Binder adapts his animated style to a collection of spooky stories that promise a good time for all. Like “It Ate My Sister,” about a science project gone wrong (or right, actually) resulting in a huge, hungry slug. Or “Death of Harry Potter,” about the creepy but funny demise of the famed wizard. Binder’s thrills and chills are made even more immersive by his penchant for humorous sound/vocal effects to describe the settings, and his imaginative way of weaving elements of his own growing up with fantastical scenarios. Older grade school age children will find this album a hoot! Recorded live in 2005 and 2009 at Horace Mann Middle School and Knotty Oak Middle School. Ages 10 and up.”
